Coastal Haze

The palette of foggy coastal mornings: a range that sits between the slate of overcast sea and the pale aqua of shallow water at the horizon. Cerulean-whisper-muted provides the palest, most atmospheric blue-gray entry — the color of coastal sky through sea mist; azure-mist-soft steps toward a clearer, more definitively blue note; cobalt-pearl-soft introduces the slightly deeper, more saturated blue of deeper coastal water; slate-mist-soft (or its nearest equivalent teal-mist-soft) provides the blue-gray ground tone; and seafoam-whisper-soft contributes the warm aqua-green of shallow water over sand. The collection is deliberately understated — these are colors that work in large fields as backgrounds and surface tones rather than as accent colors.

These colors are background and surface colors, not accent colors. They work best paired with a warm cream or off-white for page backgrounds and a warm near-black or dark slate for typography. A single warm accent (amber, terracotta, or soft gold) creates effective contrast against the cool-neutral haze palette without fighting it. Avoid pure white, pure black, or bright saturated accents — they break the atmospheric quality the palette creates.

Editorial direction

Collections should do more than group swatches. Each one should read like a usable design direction with a clear emotional lane and a real application surface.

This detail route is the missing layer between a generic palette gallery and a convincing design reference. It gives the set a specific point of view.
