How it works

1. Sample

The image is drawn to a canvas and sampled — up to 10,000 pixels are read across the full image area.

2. Cluster

Pixels are grouped into color clusters using a quantize-then-refine algorithm. Similar colors merge into one representative.

3. Match

Each cluster centroid is matched against the full 5,000+ color ColorArchive using weighted RGB distance.

All processing happens locally in your browser — images are never uploaded to any server.
